The natural is popular. We no longer count the number of beauty recipes based on vegetable oil circulating on the net, whether for the making of a homemade hair mask or a body treatment. But on the face, all have not yet taken the plunge. Especially oily skin. Yes, this type of skin has a hard life: pimples, shine, blackheads due to excess sebum secretion… It is not always easy to know what can be applied to it – or not. Although oily skin is more comfortable than dry skin, this feeling makes it feel, wrongly, too hydrated. Big mistake! Oily skin has a hydrolipidic film like all other skin and it must be preserved. The classic mistake made by this type of skin? Clean it excessively, which dries it out. If it should not be stripped on the pretext that it shines a little too much, it should on the contrary be given hydration. A good serum, a suitable day cream, yes. But if it also went through the oils? Dermatologist Martine Baspeyras enlightens us. “You can moisturize your skin with an oil, provided you choose it well. Oils are not all equal, some are comedogenic, they will clog pores, which is not ideal when you have oily skin. Non-comedogenic vegetable oils include baobab oil, avocado oil, prickly pear oil, argan oil and hazelnut oil. » All oils are not good for oily skin, you have to choose the right vegetable oil and the right composition. “You need a quality oil, that it is well purified and organic. Anything that is oily tends to capture toxic products and this ensures that there are fewer pesticides. If you have the slightest doubt, you can test the oil on a small area to check that pimples do not appear the next day. "On the top of the forehead, it's radical," advises the dermatologist.

The interest of oil

In terms of benefits, the oil pampers the epidermis. Moisturizing, it provides essential fatty acids and helps to fix vitamins such as vitamin E. Some are anti-inflammatory because they are rich in omega 3. It is also a texture that we will massage more naturally so that it penetrates well the skin, and we know how much the face loves massages for their relaxing and anti-ageing effects. In addition to vegetable oils, we do not deprive ourselves of beauty oils if you have oily skin, whether they are make-up removers or cleansers. To be checked: that they display the mention "non-comedogenic" thus proving that the tests on this subject have been carried out by the brand. have occlusive effects on the skin. They are preferred on the feet, which are very dry areas. Also, oily skin is strongly advised not to apply oil on a daily basis as dry skin would do – except in the event of external aggressions, for example during a stay in the mountains in winter. These nourishing treatments should be used sparingly, once a week, and in the evening before going to bed to avoid the mirror ball effect during the day. Everyone likes to shine but only when it's figuratively…
