Beauty products not to lend under any circumstances!

"Will you pass me your lipstick, steup?"... We've all heard this phrase coming out of her best friend's mouth at least once. If the problem that first comes to mind is that you are going to wear the same one at the same party like two gourds (#twins), there is another problem, let's say, sanitary.

Cosmopolitan US called on New York dermatologist Dendy Engelman, who specializes in cosmetics, to find out which beauty products you could lend, and which ones it's better not to take out in public or risk being borrowed. We advise all the maniacs here present to take a paper and a pencil.

To hide

The problem when you lend your beauty products is called "germ". Above all, never lend cream in a jar, even to your BFF. Already, the dermatologist advises to wash your hands yourself before putting your fingers on the product, so as not to contaminate the rest of the content. Your body absorbs 60% of the products you put on it, including germs. So, it is better to be satisfied with his own than to multiply them with those of his friend.

Ditto for mascara, pressed powder, cream eyeshadow, and facial brushes. We also forget the loan of balm, gloss and lipstick, which would promote the transmission of bacteria and viruses. Herpes, for example: many are carriers but do not have symptoms, which does not prevent their ability to spread in the blink of an eye. Likewise, she will have to give up on your makeup brushes unless you disinfect it before and after. And we're not talking about toothbrushes and razors, don't even think about them. After all these categorical refusals, we do not guarantee the reaction of the person concerned…

To loan

Beauty products not to be loaned under no pretext!

No need to feel guilty in unworthy friend mode, because there are still lots of products that she can steal from you without risk. For example, she can borrow anything that falls into the squeeze bottles category: perfume, lotion, pressure foundation, hair products... As we don't come into direct contact with the product, we're safe. With a clean brush, it is also ok for loose powder which does not retain bacteria because it is dry.

We remain calm when she asks us for a lip liner: all you have to do is sharpen it to reset the counters. It also works for nail polish and eyelash curler (to be disinfected with a wipe anyway) because metal does not retain bacteria for very long. Finally, as long as your accomplice is lice-free, no problem: the hairbrush should not be a source of conflict. The story does not say whether the interviewed dermatologist fell out with all her girlfriends or not.
