Know if Opened Beauty Products Are Expired

But we must also try to know when the beauty products that we have already opened are expired and therefore unsuitable for use. Indeed, we must not forget that these are cosmetic products that are applied to the skin, eyes, mouth. And that their quality must be optimal, so as not to endanger our health.

On beauty products, there is no precise expiry date. But you find on the other hand a "range" of maximum opening. The open pot symbol is accompanied by a number: 6, 8, 12 M for month. This indicates that they should not be used if they have been open for longer than that.

One solution is therefore to note the date on which you opened a product directly on it. You can use a permanent marker or a correction pen.

The signs that prove that a product is expired

You will, we hope, apply this rule for your next purchases of day cream, moisturizing serum and other hair masks. But for all the products in your bathroom that are already open, it's too late. Fortunately, certain clues can show you that a product is "passed" and that it is better to throw it away.

This is the case if its texture changes and presents, for example, lumps when it was smooth. This is the case if the smell has totally disappeared, or has changed. This is the case if the product is colored strangely, with a yellowish or brown film on the edges and on the surface. It is likely to be expired. And even if it is not necessarily dangerous, its effectiveness is in any case probably reduced, in the case of an anti-aging serum for example.

In any case, it is better not to take the slightest risk by putting anything on your skin, and to sort it out.
