Lighten armpits: 7 natural tips for a “clean” effect

Hairs, pimples, ingrown hairs and brown spots are all inconveniences that lead us to hide certain parts of our body, such as the armpits. Indeed, it happens that the skin becomes dark on this part of the body, thus preventing us from easily wearing sleeveless tops. Discover these 7 homemade recipes to lighten your armpits and wear the tops you like without embarrassment.

Shaving, the accumulation of dead cells, the alcohol contained in certain deodorants, or even excessive perspiration, are factors responsible for dark spots under the armpits. On the other hand, you can get rid of this unsightly inconvenience and the discomfort it involves, with natural products at your fingertips.

1. Baking soda and lemon

When it comes to lightening certain areas of the body, this duo always comes back on the table.

Baking soda is a natural exfoliant that removes dead skin cells and unclogs pores. As for lemon, the citric acid it contains has lightening properties and therefore in addition to being antiseptic, lemon is also a good natural bleaching agent.

For this, mix a tablespoon of baking soda with a teaspoon of lemon and stir well to obtain a paste.

Spread the paste on your armpits and exfoliate in circular motions for 5 minutes. Then rinse your armpits with lukewarm water and moisturize your skin.

Repeat this up to 4 times a week for effective results.

2. Sugar and olive oil

By combining these two ingredients, you obtain a preparation that is at the same time exfoliating, moisturizing and nourishing. In fact, sugar is a good natural exfoliant: its grains, when mixed with an oil, eliminate dead skin and stimulate microcirculation. As for olive oil, it nourishes the skin and soothes irritations.

Mix in a bowl 2 tablespoons of olive oil with 2 tablespoons of sugar. Apply the resulting paste to damp armpits and rub for a minute to exfoliate your skin. Let stand for 5 to 10 minutes and rinse with clear water. Then moisturize your armpits.

3. Apple cider vinegar

Its amino acid and lactic acid content eliminates dead cells and prevents the proliferation of bacteria. Thus, the skin is cleansed and purified and this is what helps to lighten the armpits.

Its mode of application is simple. Just soak a cotton ball with cider vinegar and pass it over the armpits. Let it dry before rinsing your armpits with clear water. Repeat this operation daily for effective results.

4. Aloe vera gel

In addition to its moisturizing and nourishing properties, aloe vera helps regenerate skin cells, tighten pores and reduce black spots. Aloe vera gel also has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, which help fight bacteria and soothe the skin.

Apply a layer of aloe vera gel to your armpits, leave on for 15 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water. Use this method every other day for good results.

5. Cucumber

Cucumber is known for its moisturizing action and its ability to reduce dark circles and puffiness, but it also has brightening properties.

For this, simply rub cucumber slices on your dark armpits for 1 or 2 minutes. Leave the juice on for 10 minutes and then rinse.

Repeat this operation every day, without fear.

6. Potato

Potato is a natural bleaching agent that not only lightens the skin, but also relieves it and soothes itching.

To do this, peel a potato and grate it to extract the juice. Apply the juice to your armpits, leave on for 10 to 15 minutes and rinse.

Another way is to rub thin slices of potato on the armpits, like what we saw for cucumber.

7. Rose water

Rose water soothes the skin, balances its pH, but also brightens it.

Mix the rose water with a tablespoon of baking soda to obtain a thick paste, which you will apply to your armpits. Leave on for 5 to 10 minutes and then rinse with clear water.

This operation can be repeated up to twice a week.

You now have a wide choice of natural and economical recipes, in order to lighten your armpits and take full advantage of the clothes you like, even without sleeves!
