Exclusive interview: La Routine Beauté by Zoë Kravitz, Ambassador Yves Saint Laurent Beauté

The American actress, singer and model (also also incidentally the daughter of the Rock Star Lenny Kravitz) reveals everything about her beauty routine!Meeting with Ambassador Ysl Beauté.

It's been a while since you work with Ysl Beauté.What is your best memory with the brand?

It's hard to say...Since the start of our collaboration, I love every moment that we have shared together, whether it was a shoot or the realization of a video campaign.It has become a bit like a family for me!If I really have to talk about a memory that particularly marked me, I would say that this is the campaign for the Black Opium perfume made in Thailand.It was magical, the country is beautiful and the culture is so enriching.

Being an ambassador for Ysl Beauté what does it mean for you?

It is a great honor for me to be able to represent this iconic brand which celebrates strength, femininity and especially inclusiveness.I like the fact that they defend values that are dear to me such as expressing that beauty is everywhere, regardless of morphology or skin color.Also, it is not a brand that claims to have the target that women, it has rather an androgynous philosophy that I find great.As a beauty ambassador, I do not try to encourage people to use makeup to look like me, but rather so that they are more alike.

What is your own definition of beauty?

Everything is a question of self -confidence.A person who has confidence in herself and who feels good about her skin is directly brighter and attracts others with his energy.This is what makes her beautiful, in my opinion.

Do you have small everyday habits that make you feel beautiful?

I think beauty goes through health: eating well, exercising and drinking a lot of water.It is the basis of a good lifestyle and it is when I stand a maximum of this short list that I feel best.Skincare is also super important for me.I never miss the stage of cleaning the skin morning and evening.

What does your beauty routine look like?

My beauty routine is rather simple: I clean my skin, I use a serum and a moisturizer.Makeup level, when I don't want to have a too busy look, I only use the light -touched pen enlightenment to correct and bring light to my complexion.When I want a more worked make-up, I do not hesitate to use the All Hours skin ink foundation.On a daily basis, I make up my eyes like Cat Eye with the Couture Color palette and I work my eyebrows with the Brow Pencil.For the final touch, I fill my lips with lipstick, whether nude or more colorful from the Slim Velvet Radical collection.It depends on my mood of the day!

Do you feel different when you wear makeup and especially lipstick?

Yes totally !It is a great tool to boost your self -confidence and accentuate the things you love on your face.When you wake up in the morning and you do not feel at the top of your shape, it's always super pleasant to prepare and make up.We have the impression that we are finally ready to face everything! You can put your eyes in values, lengthen them with a line of eyeliner and also put the accent on your mouth with a lipstick.A red mouth is so powerful and it recalls sensuality.You can just be dressed simply, with a white basic t-shirt and a red lipstick, and your look is ready.It takes two seconds and it can completely change your mood and your attitude in front of the day that awaits you.That's why I love makeup!

Do you share your secrets or beauty advice with your mom?

Sure !She was the one who taught me to make up and take care of my skin.It was she who also made me understand that beauty also goes through everything we put in our body.My skin reacts enormously to what I eat and it is therefore super important for me to have a balanced diet and a good lifestyle to be able to feel good inside and out.Thanks Mom !

Are you a beauty adventurer?

I love to explore all types of creativity in beauty, but also in mode.Finding a routine that suits us best, it's great, but I think it's also important to get out of your comfort zone, try different things and draw inspiration from films, photos,...It is really enriching to be able to explore new possibilities and to see how it affects our mood and our personality.

You have 6.2 million subscribers on Instagram.Do you feel like you have a responsibility for those who follow you?

I don't really think about what it involves.I try to express myself on social networks when I feel the need and to be myself, authentic.I often try to remember that Instagram, it's not real life.People often think that what if you are interested in something, but you don't do it on the networks, is in reality you don't care.Suddenly, I try most often to focus on what is real, to have my feet on the ground and to be just honest with whom I am.It's cool to share certain things online, but it is only a tiny and fictitious part of whom we are really.
