Facial care: how to make a successful mask? Clarins

Tonight is a relaxing evening. On the program: bath, mask and series. But which mask to choose? Hydrating, purifying, revitalizing? And how do we apply it? We take stock of all the secrets of a successful mask.

Which type of mask for which type of skin?

Like any facial treatment, the product is carefully chosen according to your skin type and the active ingredients it contains. Reactive and very dry skin will avoid clay masks, which can however be beneficial for combination to oily skin (ideally on the T zone). If you have dilated pores and a dull complexion, opt for an astringent mask. But if your skin feels tight, opt instead for a soothing treatment that will calm the irritations.

Homemade masks, the low-budget solution

If you want to take care of your skin at a lower cost, do your own preparation. A mixture of clay powder, water and hazelnut oil will purify oily skin, while avocado combined with olive oil will restore suppleness and comfort to dry skin. You can also prepare a homemade scrub with sugar and vegetable oil.

Face mask, the procedure to follow

First of all, we clean thoroughly. A mask is always applied to perfectly clean skin. After removing make-up, we pass a cotton soaked in a soothing lotion, then a scrub to remove dead cells: the mask will be more effective if the pores are freed from impurities. The ideal? Clarins Soft Peeling Exfoliating Cream. For the application of the mask, there are two options, the fingers and the brush - which must be flawless. The latter will allow more precision and avoid overloading the skin.

Always respect the exposure time indicated on the instructions. Leaving the mask on longer will not make it more effective. On the contrary, it will risk attacking your skin. During the pose, relax, read a magazine, watch your series, make a phone call (with the hands-free kit of course), put slices of cucumber on your eyes... In a word: relaxation. To remove the mask, use face sponges, pat dry with a clean towel and apply your usual care. It's good, right?
