Lip oil embellishes them

The first lip oils released in 2015 at Clarins and Yves Saint Laurent. Many brands of both makeup and care (Dior, Erborian, Givenchy, Nyx, L'Oréal Paris, Kiehl's...) followed out.

These oils, with a finish quite similar to that of a gloss, form a brilliant protective film, even shimmering, more or less tinted. They thus embellish the lips from the application, with a less fatty result than a balm would do, and also in the long term by their care effect.

Lip oil makeups

Obviously, lovers of ultra pigmented matte lipsticks will find them a little weak. But when you want natural, without abandoning a touch of glamor, they leave a pretty fairly subtle color veil, thanks to their brilliant rendering.

Some are slightly pigmented, others react to the humidity of the lips to naturally color them. Some makeup artists use them to transform a brilliant matte lipstick.

Lip oil treats them

The real difference between the gloss and lip oil lies in the nourishing aspect of the latter. While the gloss is composed exclusively of polymers and pigments, oils are enriched with vegetable oils rich in nutrients and omega 3, 6 or 9, but also in antioxidants (apricot, macadamia, coriander, jojoba, hazelnut, hazelnutraspberry, passiflore...) Thus, if their textures seem close, the care benefit is really different.Oil brings nutrition and hydration, as a balm would do.And in fact, the comfort is much higher.

How to use lip oils?

We choose it very rich in vegetable oils.Depending on the brand, the oil is more or less thin, but it leaves a fairly light veil, without too much thickness and an pasty appearance as a balm could do.It all depends on the oils chosen, which are more or less viscous, and the art of the formulars to define the right cocktail.
