"Kobido is a kind of natural and ancestral facelift that magnifies a face without distorting it" (Elisabeth Alimi)

(Etx Daily Up) - In his work "Kobido - Beauty Care and other secret rituals of the Japanese", Elisabeth Alimi, facialist, gives us the keys to an ancestral art which nevertheless seems more than ever topical.Exit the superposition of the layers of creams, serums, and other products with extension formulas, the beauty rituals of the land of the sun-levant favor prevention to repair, the authentic, and above all a total harmony between body and spirit. The author tells us more about this art than the Westernals should soon adopt.Meet.

What led you to interest you in Japanese beauty rituals? Originally portrait photographer, faces have always fascinated me.Beyond the perfection of the lines, I have always wanted to reflect this beauty or this inner light which makes you a unique being.Facialist today, this idea never left me.The art of Kobido was for me a revelation. It is a Japanese beauty ritual that has the ability to magnify a natural face without ever distorting it.We know the refinement and elegance of Japanese culture; The Japanese know better than anyone to combine tradition and modernity.Their beauty rituals of ancestral origin are paradoxically very current, in their desire to best preserve the skin using natural and ethical processes;which perfectly corresponds to my state of mind.

What is Kobido? Much more than a classic facial massage, authentic kobido is a traditional holistic art with multiple virtues born in the 15th century. It literally means 'the ancestral way of beauty'.This art comes from a line of which Shogo Mochizuki is the master of the 26th generation Kobido and with whom I received the lessons a few years ago already.Kobido is a kind of natural and ancestral facelift which is characterized by a set of manual techniques of a large sophistication. We find in particular kneading, percussion, as well as a set of precise and desynchronized gestures which require experience and a great mastery. An artistic choreography takes place on the face, from the neckline to the root of the hair, which is associated with drainage and digitopuncture.Traces of fatigue are erased, the oval is redesigned, the harmonized features are enhanced, the pores are tightened, the skin redensified, the complexion lights up and a stroke of a stunning is displayed on the face.

In more detail, what are its virtues on the body as on the mind? You should know that stress is one of the first factors of aging. It generates free radicals that attack the skin.In addition to helping to keep a pretty skin by relaunching blood microcirculation and collagen, Kobido remains a sensory experience: it circulates KI, vital energy, by the manual stimulation of acupuncture points linked to the organs ofbody. He thus evacuates stress, frees the hormones of happiness and provides a deep feeling of well-being.We leave a regenerated, revived kobido session.

Are there contraindications? Skins that undergo strong irritation, severe acne or very pronounced rosacea, cannot benefit from a Kobido massage, at the risk of warm up too quickly.A Kobido massage is conscientious. The positioning, the necessary knowledge and the complexity of the gestures require that it is practiced by another person than oneself, experienced and trained in authentic Kobido in the rules of the art.On the other hand, it is essential to take care of your skin on a daily basis, it is the whole object of my work, to keep long and magnificent skin like that of the Japanese, especially through the precepts and ritualsJapanese. We find all the beauty tips adapted to its skin type but also a complete series of facial self-massages as well as the errors not to be made to find a radiant daily face.

We have applied for decades to overcome wrinkles, in vain.Is this holistic approach to beauty the key to repelling the signs of age? The aging of the skin in touch with gravitation remains inevitable, the skin regenerates on average every 28 days and the more we advance inage, the more this period in which cell renewal intervenes increases.Good skin hydration is one of the keys to try to slow down the signs of time. This comes essentially from what we drink and ingest.Trained in natural dermocosmetic, I have always been a follower of natural and organic vegetable oils which have the advantage of having 100% active ingredients, of being without preservatives unlike so -called conventional creams. These oils naturally enrich the hydrolipidic skin film of the skin and hold subcutaneous water for sustainable hydration.A good facial massage accompanied by an oil adapted to its skin type is one of the winning combinations to try to slow down time.

We see through these Japanese rituals that beauty and health are intrinsically linked. What can impact the 'beauty' of the skin? A skin that breathes health, much more than a face without defects, is a criterion of beauty par excellence in the land of the sun-levant.Many factors can alter the quality of the skin, including stress, pollution, alcohol, tobacco, sun abuse, etc..In Japan, one of the beauty criteria is to have white and spotless skin.It is not uncommon to see the Japanese wandering a shadow in hand to protect themselves from the sun, aware of the damage it can cause if they do not pay attention.

Are there other preventive behaviors to adopt to protect your skin? The term prevention is the master-word.It is essential to take care of your skin very early, as I explain in my book. You have to know how to identify your skin type and adopt the right gestures accordingly, but also clean your skin and make your beauty ritual a ceremony like the tea ceremony, where you have a pleasurewith oneself, in a zen way and for his greatest good.We must hear by ritual, regularity.A good lifestyle, just like good food hygiene, participates in skin health and health.

You are talking about two antagonistic schools in terms of beauty ritual in Japan: Layering and Soboku-Biyo.Without being named, this second ritual has been unanimous since the start of the health crisis. How to explain this need for a return to the authentic, to the essentials? Indeed, the Soboku-Biyo literally means simple beauty, it is a minimalist concept minimalist. We are looking for sobriety both in the choice and number of products, ethical, natural but of quality and in the way of applying them with simple gestures by hand or brush. We also use lukewarm water. We limit the number of actions on the skin to best preserve the hydrolipidic barrier which protects it from external aggressions.I am absolutely in line with this approach and it is the one I recommend. You have to know how to let the skin breathe so that it does its self-protective work, do not overload it to avoid making it addicted to creams at the risk of seeing it dry very quickly.Furthermore, I think we feel more concerned by our planet. There is a real awareness in relation to respect for nature, the protection of the environment and for that we go to the essentials and we are relieving the superfluous.

This approach is characterized by another ritual, the Kinubiyou facial®.What is it? I imported this concept of Japan.I was introduced to this magnificent natural skin care method, which derives the benefits of silk properties.Silk brushes are mainly used ethical and ancestral with the greatest delicacy. The contact of the lukewarm water brush releases sericin, a natural substance that protects the skin microbiome. This extremely gentle treatment improves the quality of the skin.He alone does cleaning, natural peeling and hydration. We find healthy and beautiful skin without other complementary products.I regularly accompany him with a kobido.

Finally, what are the Japanese beauty inspirations of which Westerners should be inspired? Westerners are more reparation focused than on prevention.Taking care of its beauty in Japan does not correspond in any case to an egocentric act, it is on the contrary a duty, a way of taking care of your health, and this, from an early age.All the refinement of the Japanese culture that I evoke in my book is a great source of inspiration: the way of achieving or consuming a meal, to take care of your skin in awareness and in a zen way, etc..find a synergy resonance, with scientific recommendations, like an echo that has preceded them for centuries.Okinawa centenarians are the perfect illustration.Through these cultural and philosophical precepts, body and mind are in perfect communion for better health and greater serenity.
