LIDL: The Cien brand in the sights of the association

Consumers who are used to shopping at Lidl know the Cien brand well.Only distributed by Lidl, this brand is in great success and offers several products to take care of yourself on a daily basis: day cream, sun protection, repairing body and face, masks ... It is possible, thanks to Cien, to have acomplete routine. But now, everything is not so beautiful in the best of roses.Because in exchange for the low prices offered by the brand, it would seem that certain products are not good for us.

This is in any case what the UFC-Que-Choice association denounces, which targets certain products in particular. We start with "SPF 50 children's sun protection", which contains octocrylene. However, this organic compound is far from optimal for the skin.According to the association, it is a "widely used solar filter, transforms over time into a compound known for its toxicity". « Au fil du temps, l’octocrylène se transforme en benzophénone, un composé dont les auteurs expliquent qu’il est génotoxique, cancérogène et perturbateur endocrinien. It is a team of French researchers (National Center for Scientific Research and Sorbonne University) and Americans who uncovered this disturbing phenomenon ".We find this same filter in the ‘Classic Cream’.

Aloe vera liquid soap contains a dangerous ingredient

One might think that this soap based on this plant known for its virtues is not harmful.Aloe vera contains 98% water. The remaining 2% is nutrients: vitamins, enzymes, amino acids, minerals. This plant is therefore recommended for all skins, whether dry, oily, damaged, sensitive ... Inevitably, see a soap that contains it makes you want to buy it.But now, this soap does not only contain aloe vera but also a much less attractive ingredient: propylparabic. The latter is an endocrine disruptor. It is now prohibited for products without rinsing which are intended for children under three years old.

Lidl : Alerte info ! Des produits cosmétiques sont nocifs selon L’UFC-Que choisir !

But then how to do your shopping without risking buying dangerous products? You have to look at the composition of the products carefully and not only rely on a packaging that makes you want and implies that the product is good, natural. And if you don't want to waste too much time reading long lists of ingredients, you can use an application like Incy Beauty. It works by scanning the product bar code.It gives a note between 0 and 20, and indicates all the products that are good, without risk, or those which are dangerous or even controversial. The opportunity to find products that are not harmful!

Lidl did not react!

The association therefore warns consumers and invites them to verify what they buy. These products can, in the long term, promote the development of certain diseases such as cancers. It is therefore strongly advised to buy better not to put yourself in danger.Lidl has not yet reacted. The brand sells more and more organic and natural products.Perhaps this little controversy will push it to sell exclusively products that have no danger to humans, even if it means selling them a little more expensive.

In any case, the brand is more talking about launching its loyalty program, launched via the Lidl Plus application. The latter has had great success since its launch a few days ago.It has already been downloaded more than ten million times. It must be said that it offers exceptional promotions, discounts, games ...

Lidl knows exactly how to seduce consumers who are concerned with saving money and not breaking the bank by shopping.Today, it is possible to find everything at Lidl.Food, obviously, home cleaning products, beauty products, clothes, kitchen utensils, high-tech products ... Lidl treats its image, which is why it would not be surprising thatIts Cien range changes in the coming months to turn to more natural alternatives, concerned about customer health.
