Perpignan: Lola and Seb, "five times contaminated for two" since the start of Covid's pandemic

They accumulate Covid-19 infections like bad luck. Lola (assumed name), 28, and Seb, 27, feel like they are living in a loop with the Covid. "The first time I contracted it was in August 2020 and I suffered a lot, I thought I was dying," describes the young woman. She sees herself feverish one summer evening, suffering from violent headaches before waking up the next day bedridden by "unbearable body aches". Then, "very big breathing problems and breath apnea. I phoned the firefighters, they were overloaded with calls, they did not come", includes Lola I who self-medicate with paracetamol . The treatment is effective. "The next day, I woke up in great shape," says the Perpignanaise. She will undergo a second, more serious episode, a year later, in August 2021.

"This time, I started feeling like a big flu to which new symptoms were added every day. Loss of taste, fatigue, migraine and even dizziness." Lola goes to the Cabestany screening center where she feels unwell. "I had no more strength, no more energy, I was at 6 voltage. I came back positive again and I was hospitalized." She does not know if she is affected by the Delta or the Omicron. "It doesn't matter", the certainty is that Lola transmits the virus to her companion.

"I had it less hard than Lola. Just a headache, fever and pain in my whole back for two to three days", depicts Seb, this Wednesday, January 26, receiving the results of his very recent PCR test. "Last Friday, I was with a vaccinated friend who was not feeling well, and from Monday I was overcome with immense fatigue and the same signs as six months ago". Pizzaiolo currently unemployed, Seb prefers to be clear about it and gets tested. It is declared positive.

In the aftermath, Lola feels dizzy. "Before even doing a test, I knew, I know the path of the virus, its course, I already felt the Covid in me", continues the one who catches it for the third time. "Last August, the Covid m 'triggered anemia, I was followed by a doctor who put me on treatment for three months. I was fragile, I must not have produced a lot of antibodies ", interprets the unlucky one, hoping however to be immune like his companion for the next six months. A first injection to the key? "We have vaccinated and positive friends. So it's complicated for us to make the decision to get vaccinated or not. Is it good for bad not to do it, we wonder. Except that if it's is absolutely mandatory, we will do it", considers the couple not really reassured.

In the meantime, they are going back to solitary confinement for ten days in their apartment in Perpignan.
