Makeup trend: the 80s are making a comeback

disco show

Yellow, turquoise blue, purple, orange… it's obvious, the flash colors lead the dance. And during the last Spring-Summer 2017 ready-to-wear fashion shows, we clearly noticed it. Blush over rosé at Kenzo, glossy and ultra-colored eyes at Victoria Beckham, Vanessa Seward or even Sonia Rykiel and red lips everywhere, for everyone. In short, the festive spirit of disco is more relevant than ever!

* The right workout: here, no precise instructions. Finger, brush or foam applicator, regardless of skill level. The idea is above all to have fun with colors, to mix the craziest nuances, and to be daring.

popmania

Forget the concept of Less is More. After years of nude, the face (finally) regains color. And in our bathrooms, we instantly fall for these so funky novelties like the graphic palettes with a playful message from Yves Saint Laurent (Face Palette Contour, €49* andCouture Palette Collector, €63*), the color chart from Rainbow Bleu eye shadow by Dior (Palette Color Gradation Blue, €59.50*) or the insanely trendy blush by François Nars (Palette Blush Narsissist, €51, sephora.com). On the palate, treat yourself to a glamorous and preferably couture red (eighties snobbery obliges) with Rouge Interdit Vinyl n°13 Givenchy (€33*).

Lip contouring

Tendance maquillage : les années 80 font leur grand retour

Long put aside, the lip contour pencil is making a comeback, but be careful here, there is no question of abusing it.

* The right workout? Patrick Lorentz, Estée Lauder Make-up Artist, advises applying it after your lipstick, in order to perfect the contours in the final touch and above all to fix the color. At Dior or at Lancôme, the principle of the double-ended pen makes it possible to (better) modulate the nuances and to make a less marked line. Finally, Chanel and Givenchy play the card of the past to the hilt by bringing up to date the traditional pencil, the old one, that of our adolescence. We love ! Revival we tell you!

pink and cheeks

In the 80's, we were afraid of nothing. And in 2017 we find this audacity with panache. Koreans have long made blush an outward sign of trendiness. So we dare the overdosed pink that wakes up the complexion in less than two and no, will not make us look like Russian dolls!

* The good work out? Fuchsia, candy pink, the color must snap, it's the only valid option! In cream, stick or pressed powder versions, the choice is yours. But for all of them, it is applied from the temples to the bulge of the cheekbones in large patches of color.

Glow superstar

After years of nude, the 2017 complexion is 100% sexy. That is to say plumpy, fresh, slightly wet, in a sensual and sophisticated aesthetic Guy Bourdin way. An ultra-strong bias, widely inspired by make-up artists, who all offer a real ode to glow in their new collections (Happy Glow at Laura Mercier, Skin Glow at Bobbi Brown, Glow Expert at Terry, Glow Kit Sun Dipped of Anastasia Beverly Hills…).

*The right workout? Get a glow à la carte, either with a non-matte foundation that you will deliberately forget to powder, a satiny foundation base or a highlighter that you will put in large touches on the cheekbones and temples.

*Another option: don't be afraid of anything and gloss your eyelids and mouth with punchy shades! Guaranteed effect (preferred in the evening, say to avoid for the office…)

sexy lips

We remember Pamela Ewing in Dallas, Cindy Lauper, Madonna, or even Rose Laurens… all these muses, singers, actresses of the 80s turned 1000 heads with their enticing mouths!

*The right workout? Matte is so 2016… This year we're betting everything on glowy seduction. To do so, we opt for tinted oils and balms, reds saturated with pigments and above all with shine in order to have as a bonus a maximum of hydration (and comfort).

Stick is chic

Need to regress or simply want to simplify your life? That's good: there are countless lipsticks, blushes or eye shadows available in the form of pencils.

*The right workout? Two formats to choose from: the XXL version to sublimate your complexion with cream blushes that sculpt and illuminate in a single gesture:

Second option: the fine-tipped or double-tipped school pencil for an ultra-precise line on the eyes and/or mouth:

A little nugget this season: the Crayon 4 Couleurs by Clarins, which looks like two drops of water to the "4 coul'" of our childhood and which is already announced as a must-have for all beautistas in search of innovation:
