The 10 mistakes that destroy your heart, according to the American Heart Association

We deplore 400 deaths per day due to cardiovascular diseases in France, according to the French Federation of Cardiology. They are thus the 1ʳᵉ cause of death among the over 65s and women. It is therefore important to take care of your heart health. And for that several errors, often daily, are to be avoided.

Several elements play on the health of the heart

A healthy adult heart weighs an average of 300 grams while its size is about 1.5 times that of a fist. This organ ensures the circulation of blood throughout the body thanks to its contractions. At rest, there are between 55 and 85 beats per minute. If the heart rate reaches 100, it is good to consult.

Moreover, to have a heart in good shape, it is preferable to have a blood pressure (that is to say the pressure which reigns inside the arteries) lower than 14/9 and a cholesterol level which does not exceed 2 g/l. Blood sugar must, for its part, be less than 1.26 grams per litre.
