The story of this young stray cat without ears has moved tens of thousands of Internet users

Some animals hide a difficult past. This was the case for Potato, a cat found in 2018 wandering the streets in China. Recovered in a bad state and suffering from a rare tumor, the feline had to undergo an operation on the level of the ears.

When he was rescued, Potato, about 6 years old, was very ill. The vet diagnosed him with a ceruminous adenoma of the external auditory canal. This tumor, very rare, can cause changes in hearing and pain in the patient. To help Potato, the trainer made the decision to operate on him, reports Animal Channel. To avoid any recurrence that could make life difficult for him, his ears were carefully removed from his skull.

The earless cat was taken in by a loving family

Shortly after his operation, Potato was adopted. His new family supported him throughout his recovery. He even became best friends with Horlick, the second feline in the household. The 2 comrades got into the habit of snuggling up against each other and falling asleep together. They are now inseparable and share a unique bond. And since no one knows exactly when Potato was born, his adoptive parents decided to celebrate his birthday every year, on April 25, the day he was officially collected.

His owners have created an Instagram account, on which they regularly post pictures of their adorable earless companion. The feline with green sloes is followed by more than 15,000 subscribers. The latter never tire of the moments of sweetness and affection that the brothers share on a daily basis, moments that the survivor might never have known if he had not been saved by Good Samaritans.
